Luxury Watches: 10 Amazing Modern Watch Designs of the Future

Ben Clymer from Hodinkee rounds up the frakishly futuristic of timepieces in his piece for Stylecrave entitled “10 Watches that Shape the Future of Modern Watchmaking.” “The techniques of luxury watch design can be as intricate and delicate as those of a precision automobile, albeit on a much smaller scale. From crystal to carbon fiber, diamond to gold, the materials and make of today’s luxury watches spare no expense to achieve perfection.”

Louis Vuitton Tambour Mysterieuse

Based on the mysterious movement clocks created by the famed Jean-Eugene Robert Houdin in the 19th century, Louis Vuitton’s new calibre LV115 is a near transparent wonder. This calibre is actually the first from Louis Vuitton to have been created, developed and assembled entirely in the brand’s workshops in Switzerland.

With an 8-day power reserve, there is nothing superfluous about this mechanical movement and its robustness stands in stark contrast to its ephemeral nature. As in the general principle of mysterious movements, the hour and minute hands actually sit on mobile sapphire discs that are totally transparent.

The small seconds display is at 9 o’clock in the visible section of the movement, dial-side. Like the tourbillon from Louis Vuitton, this watch is fully customizable and every piece has the potential to be unique, largely, at no extra cost.

265,000USD for a watch?

The Tambour Mystérieuse comes in its own Louis Vuitton trunk and will cost you $265,000. Each watch of the model takes a whole year to be finished which will probably give you an idea why this costs so much.

ROLEX Submariner All Black by Bamford & Sons

A Rolex in all black. The strap is black, the bezel is black, the face is black. Everything is black - and fucking amazing.

This watch will be the perfect match with my newest man bag - the Louis Vuitton Tadao.

More pictures of the watch:

Rolex does not currently offer any black versions of their popular watches. But Bamford & Son is offering a special service - so my dream can come true!

But I am convinced that the Bamford & Son version never will hold the value of a factory Rolex.
